Overview
Summary
The Boomstik Regal Raw Carbon comes from Selkirk’s LABS research division, which is where the brand tests its most advanced ideas for high-level players and competitors. It is the plain, performance-focused version of the Regal design, without the premium finishes of the limited editions, and it shares its engine with the rest of the Boomstik family.
The face is a three-layer Multistrata T700 raw carbon. Raw carbon gives high friction against the ball, a clear connection with each contact and excellent potential for spin, and the layered construction improves stability. Inside, the BoomCore system helps the paddle rebound strongly, reduces vibration and keeps the face response consistent from centre to edge. The result is a solid, controlled sound that many players find reassuring.

The paddle is elongated, with a length of up to 16.5 inches. That extra reach helps with deep shots from the back of the court, while the 16mm thickness gives control and stability at the kitchen and during tactical exchanges. As with the other Boomstik models, you can choose between elongated and widebody shapes, depending on whether you value reach or a wider hitting area more.
Because Raw Carbon versions are cheaper than the limited colourways, it is a sensible entry point for players who want Boomstik performance without paying for collector artwork.
Strengths
- Clear, direct feel. Raw carbon provides excellent feedback.
- Strong rebound. BoomCore gives pop with stability.
- Good reach. Elongated shape up to 16.5 inches.
- Control at the kitchen. The 16mm thickness is steady on touch shots.
- Lower price. Cheaper than limited editions.

Weaknesses
- Surface wear. Raw carbon loses roughness faster than coated surfaces.
- Plain design. Less distinctive than limited editions.
- Power-biased. Not the softest option.
Who it is for
Advanced and aspiring competitive players who want the Boomstik platform at a lower price and prefer raw carbon feel.
Care and buying tips
Clean the face after play and use an eraser block to remove marks. Confirm the version you are ordering, because Regal is also sold as a limited edition.
On-court tips
The elongated shape rewards players who like to hit from behind the baseline and finish at the net, so practise getting your feet set before each swing. Because raw carbon gives a direct, crisp contact, you can use it to feel exactly where the ball meets the face and refine your technique. A regular cleaning routine will keep the surface effective for much longer.
