Overview
Summary
Boomstik The Calypso is a limited summer edition of Selkirk’s LABS Project Boomstik, wearing the vivid Calypso artwork that gives the series its tropical personality. The graphics make it one of the livelier-looking paddles in the Selkirk range, but the real story is the technology it carries.
The Boomstik platform combines BoomCore with the MOI Tuning System. BoomCore starts with a PureFoam centre, surrounded by an EVA Power Ring, and the two are fused into a single piece. Selkirk calls it its strongest core system so far, with roughly 14% faster ball exit than before and no core crush. The MOI Tuning System uses semi-fixed weights around the perimeter of the head, moving mass outward to make the paddle stable and increase the sweet spot. Selkirk describes the overall balance as not overly head-heavy, which helps the paddle stay steady when the ball is hit off-centre.

On the face is InfiniGrit, a surface said to be three times more durable than ordinary raw carbon and capable of generating up to around 2,000 RPM of spin while staying consistent over long sessions.
You can pick elongated or widebody, both with a 16mm core. Each paddle includes a Paddle ID for authentication, which matters because limited artwork is often imitated.
Strengths
- Fast, durable core. BoomCore gives strong rebound without core crush.
- Perimeter stability. MOI weighting helps keep the face square.
- Lasting surface. InfiniGrit holds its texture longer than raw carbon.
- Not head-heavy. Balanced feel helps with quick hand exchanges.
- Authentication. Paddle ID supports genuine-product checks.

Weaknesses
- Price level. The base LABS Boomstik is listed around USD 333; limited editions can cost more.
- Summer edition availability. Seasonal artwork may disappear after the run.
- Power-oriented. Soft-touch specialists may find it too lively.
Who it is for
Advanced players and enthusiasts who want a high-end power paddle with a consistent, stable feel and a colourful, summery design.
Care and buying tips
Limited summer artwork is the part most likely to show scuffs, so use a paddle cover and a transparent edge guard if one is not already fitted. Wipe the InfiniGrit face after play, keep the paddle away from direct sun, and verify the Paddle ID when the order arrives. If you are choosing between shapes, try an elongated model first if your game is built on drives, and a widebody if you want a more forgiving hitting area.
