Overview
Summary
The CRBN TruFoam Waves is positioned by the brand as the most powerful paddle in the TruFoam range, but it is a controlled kind of power. The headline feature is an all-new Waves core that stores and then releases energy as the ball compresses it, which produces a deep, penetrating pop on drives and put-aways while keeping the face stable on softer shots.
Like the rest of the family, the Waves uses a single 14mm thickness. CRBN argues that the design is already optimised, so there is no need to choose between 12, 14 or 16mm models. The face combines pure T700 carbon fibre with a fibreglass layer, which is meant to withstand heavy spin and impact without losing its character. Because the spin comes from the dwell of the foam rather than just from a rough coating, the brand says it is repeatable and consistent from shot to shot.

Like other TruFoam paddles, the Waves is available in four generations of head shape: elongated with long handle, square, elongated and a hybrid AeroCurve version. A Summit limited edition adds white edge guard and Summit artwork on the same hardware.
Strengths
- Real power without harshness. The new core releases stored energy smoothly rather than exploding off the face.
- Consistent spin. Dwell time from the foam supports repeatable topspin and slice.
- Durable build. The carbon and fibreglass face is designed to resist wear.
- Shape variety. Four generation shapes make it easy to match your preferred reach and feel.
- No thickness guesswork. One 14mm design simplifies buying.

Weaknesses
- Price. Like all TruFoam paddles it is positioned at the top of the market.
- Power-focused. Soft-game purists may find it more lively than they want.
- Learning the shape. Generation numbers matter, and changing from one to another can alter timing.
- Limited editions are scarce. Summit and other special runs may be hard to find.
Who it is for
Intermediate and advanced players who want a modern foam paddle with strong baseline and mid-court power but do not want to give up reliable touch at the kitchen. It is also a natural choice for current TruFoam users who want the most aggressive core in the family.
