Selkirk Boomstik USA Pickleball Paddle

Overview

Summary

The LABS Project Boomstik is the flagship power paddle from Selkirk’s LABS division, and the US version is the reference model that all regional editions are built from. It was developed to move beyond the old trade-off between power and durability. Power paddles have traditionally lost their bite or their pop after a few weeks of play, and the Boomstik was designed so that you do not have to accept that.

The key technologies are BoomCore, MOI tuning and InfiniGrit. BoomCore fuses a PureFoam centre with an EVA Power Ring in one unit, delivering roughly 14% more ball exit speed than the previous generation with no core crush over time. MOI tuning places semi-fixed weight around the perimeter of the paddle, increasing stability and expanding the sweet spot while keeping the balance from becoming too head-heavy. InfiniGrit is a surface that is said to be three times more durable than raw carbon and supports spin up to around 2,000 RPM that stays consistent through long matches.

The paddle has an elongated shape that adds reach, which helps with drives from the baseline, topspin and overhead smashes. A 16mm thickness is standard. Each paddle comes with a certificate and a Paddle ID, a useful safeguard in markets where counterfeit paddles are a concern. The official US list price is about USD 333.

Strengths

• Power and durability together. BoomCore keeps its response over time.
• Sweet spot and stability. MOI tuning helps stability on mishits.
• Long-lasting spin surface. InfiniGrit resists wear.
• Reach. The elongated shape covers more court.
• Authenticity features. Certificate and Paddle ID.

Weaknesses

• High price. Among the most expensive paddles on the market.
• Power-first. Not the best choice for pure touch players.
• Elongated shape takes practice. The long head needs good footwork.
• Heavy swing for some. Players with arm issues may prefer a lighter paddle.

Who it is for

Care and buying tips

Treat the paddle like a precision tool: clean the face with a damp cloth, avoid dropping it on the edge and keep it in a cover between games. When ordering for a store, record each Paddle ID against the sale so you can answer warranty questions quickly. If customers hesitate over price, remind them that the surface and core are designed to keep their performance for much longer than many competitors.

Specifications

Buying note. A widebody version also exists. Confirm that you are ordering the elongated shape if reach is your priority.
