Summary
Gearbox describes the Pressure X Elongated as a new generation with two feels and one platform. It is built around two patent-pending technologies, the Pressure X Core and the SpinLock system, and it is offered in two response profiles. The 8E version has extended dwell, which means the ball stays on the face a little longer for a deep, connected feel. The 8M version is quicker to rebound and suits players who like to be proactive on offence. A Combo option pairs one of each.
The Pressure X Core builds on Gearbox’s SSTCore foundation and combines three elements: shaped carbon that provides structure, power and energy return; tuned foam that adjusts dwell, bounce, vibration, sound and feel; and engineered pressure that fine-tunes the response across the face. SpinLock is the surface system, a combination of surface texture and friction-regenerating particles designed to keep spin performance consistent over time.

Geometry is another focus. The Elongated+ shape has a tapered throat designed for more comfortable two-handed backhands, which makes the paddle friendlier to the many players who use both hands. With a 16mm thickness and a long head, it offers reach, steady contact and a premium feel.
Strengths
- Two response options. 8E for dwell and control, 8M for faster rebound.
- Engineered core. Pressure X Core blends carbon, foam and pressure tuning.
- Lasting spin. SpinLock is designed to maintain friction over time.
- Backhand friendly. The tapered throat suits two-handed shots.
- Reach. Elongated+ geometry covers more court.

Weaknesses
- Premium price. The paddle sits in the upper price tier.
- Choice can confuse. Players must decide between 8E and 8M, or buy the combo.
- Patent-pending claims. Performance claims come from the manufacturer.
Who it is for
Advanced players who want to match the paddle’s response to their style, those who use a two-handed backhand, and players who want a modern, engineered paddle with reach.
Care and buying tips
Try both 8E and 8M if you can, because the feel difference is the main reason to choose one over the other. Clean the face with a damp cloth to keep the SpinLock surface working as intended, and store the paddle in a cover.
On-court tips
Think about your game before you choose between 8E and 8M. If you build points patiently and like to shape the ball with spin and placement, the longer dwell of the 8E suits you. If you prefer to take time away from opponents with fast speed-ups, the 8M will feel more direct. The tapered throat also makes two-handed backhands easier, so try both a one-handed and two-handed grip when testing.
